It is a super cozy shop where you can taste wine. We came in with no experience with wine tasting and learned so much! Very interesting facts about the wine regions and the aromas. The value for money at this wine tasting is definitely good!!
Excellent wine tasting. We have been to many wineries and tastings in many countries. This was very informative and educational. The wines selected were terrific and perfect for practicing what we had just learned... it was fun to learn some about the history of wine in Crete. We highly recommend visiting the shop and partaking in a tasting. There are many wines local wines for purchase to select from, ask questions and you learn something....
There was no tasting available online so we walked there. We were able to arrange a tasting for the next day for just the two of us. We received detailed explanations of the origin of the wines and proper training in tasting wines and not just drinking them. I highly recommend it to others.
We booked a wine tasting with Maria and had such a fantastic time. She is incredibly knowledgeable and shared the story of her journey in the wine industry, which was truly inspiring.The cheeses were delicious, and the wines were thoughtfully selected, offering a great variety of types and grape varieties. We also learned so much about how to properly taste wine and discovered native grapes from Crete, which made the experience even more special.If you’re visiting Chania, we highly recommend this wine tasting, it was such a memorable and unique experience for us.

I participated in the wine tasting class. It was very informative. We tasted four different wines: two whites, one rosé, and one red. We also had four different cheeses. Beforehand, we received about half an hour of information about the grapes, the growing regions, and the history of winemaking. Afterward, they explained how to smell and taste the wine before drinking it. Definitely not your average wine tasting.
We received an insightful overview—not just of the wines themselves, but also of the tasting techniques and the unique wine-producing regions of Crete. The cheese pairing at the end was a delicious touch that rounded out the experience beautifully. Highly recommended for both seasoned wine enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike!
We had a magnificent wine tasting here on a tour with Shore Excursions. This is a wine tasting unlike any other I’ve ever been to. Very informative, educational and cultured. The wines were top quality, affordable and yummy. I would definitely recommend the shop and tasting.
What an amazing wine tasting by Maria! I’ve been coming to Crete (as an adult!) since 2016 and wish we had found this place sooner! Wow she was so knowledgeable and it simply was just a perfect afternoon, for an overcast day or frankly any day in Chania!Also great for buying good quality wine, we only ended up taking 3 away with us!Thanks from Ellie & Jack! No worth to do! Much more expensive than the value to do...Only expensive one is operated.I don't know why she serve cheap wine so much even though it is tasting...It would be better to serve better wine for tasting in accordance with the price.The host likes showing off.. Even though she gave me wrong info about blending of wine, she didn't fix it.She is also rude!She shouldn't have controlled customer.It was the Worst memory in Chania.

A must-visit in Chania. Maria, the owner, is genuine, welcoming, VERY knowledgeable and made our wine-tasting experience enjoyable.We opted the wine tasting with cheeses and it is definitely worth the price.
We are in Chania walking around, went in to the store and did a wine tasting. The owner was amazing. My Fiancé and I learned so many new things and enjoyed our time.

We did the Cretian wine & cheese class and it was excellent. It's a really enjoyable afternoon.Maria gives a really accessible course that explains the do's and do not's and where the wine snobs get it wrong. I learnt a lot and have a revised appreciation for wine. Must do in Chania.Note, this review is given by a beer drinker.
We stopped here while walking around and it is the cutest little wine store that we signed up for a wine tasting class. Extremely informative and super nice! Maria was wonderful and we enjoyed every second of it. Highly recommend stopping by if you want to to learn a lot about the island of Crete and various wines.
Maria is an absolute gem! I came in to grab some wine and she did a tasting with me. I learned so much about the local wines and cannot wait to bring my friends in to share the same experience! Would highly recommend to any wine lover visiting Chania!
A lovely wine tasting in a small shop in Chania. The focus is on learning how to properly taste and drink wine, and you'll also receive information about the wines and their different flavors.
My wife and I visited Miden Agan as part of a tour called "Flavors of Chania" in July 2025.The shop owner, who has personally helped to shape the modern Cretan wine industry, is immensely personable and a wealth of knowledge. She lovingly instructed our large group through the professional way to test and taste multiple wine varieties. Her selections were all locally made, tasted great, and were priced very, very reasonably.An overall fantastic experience. If you're visiting Crete, Mien Agan should be on your must-see list.
My wife and I truly enjoyed the wine tasting seminar experience. Incredibly informative and delicious wines to sample, followed by a set of great cheeses that paired well with each of the wines.What a treat to come across during our time in ChaniaHighly recommended as a tasting and as a wine shop! Brilliant experience. Hostess was extremely knowledge about wines and the history. Her personal story was inspiring. Lots of wine and lots of cheese. A lovely relaxed environment. Would definitely recommend for anyone in Chania.

Best wine tasting I have ever done. The owner was so informative, passionate and kind, and I learnt so much about Cretan wine. I thought it was one of the best activities I have ever done in Greece, and it was such a good value! The wines were absolutely incredible, and the cheese pairings went with the wine so well. I would love to come back with my mum 💖
Great experience! We visited Miden agan for wine tasting and got much more: Maria's explanations and presentation of local wines was educating (and tasty), but we got much more in the way of history, wine culture etc. Local wines (of which there's a huge selection) are truly wonderful and very different from the world recognised varieties. If you are willing to try and to go above supermarkets' offering this is the place to go.
We had a fantastic day at the wine shop! Our host was wonderful and welcoming. She shared the history of local wines, walked through what makes them unique, and educated us along the way. Fantastic wine tasting. The owner brings local history and a ton of information about the history of the wine in the last 80 years. Tasting includes 2 white, a rose, and a red. Wonderful selection to buy as well.
We did a private wine tasting with Maria through a guide and it was hands down one of my favorite wine tastings. Maria is so incredibly passionate about wine and educating others on how wine is made and the best way to drink it. Do yourself a favor and go do a tasting!
We stopped here as part of a cruise excursion. Maria detailed the proper tasting method and flavor profiles. She then gave us three wines, two whites & and rose, to taste. They were all delicious.
Lots of options, reasonable prices and useful advice.That's all you need. The wine I bought was delicious, initially I decided for a dry white but the lady recommended a different one when I mentioned my partner likes a bit of sweetness and the wine chosen was a great pairing 👌🏽
We had a lovely wine tasting experience with Maria here. We’ve been to many different wine tastings all over the world and never learned so much in a single hour. If you’re thinking about trying wine tasting here, you should definitely try it. It’s a 10/10 experience.
Incredible wine shop, very generous and helpful knowledge from the owner. She kindly packed our purchased bottles in bubble wrap for our flight home, too. Wish we had signed up for the wine tasting!
We had an awesome wine tasting session here yesterday with another couple as part of a brilliant Food and Drink Walking Tour (by Chania Adventures). Our host, Maria, was so knowledgeable and passionate about wine. We have done other wine tasting sessions before but I learned so much more in the session. When I say we tasted the wine; I mean we really tasted it. We learned how to discover how aged the wine is, if the sulphate levels are ok, the acidity levels and how this affects what to eat with it, how to identify flavour notes and most importantly how to tell if a wine is good for having with food or if in your personal taste it is wine for drinking. The shop itself it lovely and stocked with excellent wines all selected by Maria. I would I highly recommend this experience or even just stopping by to pick up some good wine to anyone staying in the area. Thank you Maria!
We came here for a 1 hour wine tasting at 11am. We tasted 4 wines for €25 each. The shop is cute and Maria the hostess was knowledgeable and very friendly. We ended up having about 1.5hrs which suited us as we got to chatting to the other couple on the tasting. The wines were great and it was an interesting and informative event. Would recommend to wine lovers 🙂
Maria was a fantastic wealth of information! My wife and I were looking to taste some Cretan wines and we got that and more. She walked us through all of the steps for wine tasting and helped us to distinguish all of the tasting notes and visuals clues to ‘read’ the different wines. We are so glad we did this!
Fantastic, very informative tasting. We got to choose some of the wines for the tasting, and ended up having two whites, one rose, one red for 25€. The tasting took a bit over an hour. Lovely wines, perfect service.
